Monday Morning Twitter Pages: Cactus Bowl Edition

As Boyz II Men sang so famously in the 90’s; “How do I say goodbye to what we had?  The good times that made us laugh outweigh the bad.  I thought we’d get to see forever but forever’s gone away.  It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.”  Those lyrics mirror our love for college football; the ups, the downs, the exhilaration of witnessing a huge upset, and that gut wrenching feeling of a devastating loss.

As we sit a week away from crowning a new national champion, the 2015 season is set to become a distant memory.  For the next 32 Saturdays there will be no ESPN Gameday, drinking and cooking in a parking lot will be frowned upon, face or body paint will only be acceptable for those in the performing arts, and #Pac12AfterDark will be associated with other sports.

Despite the outcome of the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl and the disappointment that was the 2015 Arizona State Sun Devils season, we will all miss watching the Devils on Saturday.  The season obviously didn’t go as many of us had hoped or scripted, but the unknown is what makes college football so great.  Moving forward, the 2015 season will be viewed as either a bump in the road or an unsettling start to a downward trend.  The momentum that has been built around the program by recruiting, facility upgrades, and national exposure lend promise to a bright future.

The goal I set for rehashing what was tweeted over the college football weekend was to enable the reader to relive a great Sun Devil win, or find some humor on a Monday following a Sun Devil defeat.  We wanted to combat a case of the ‘Mondays’ with a full review of the quick witted thoughts of not only the national sports people, but the everyday fans like you or I.  Each week became a challenge to dig deeper, find more tweets that really showcased what makes college football so amazing.

With 2015 now in the rearview mirror, and 2016 looming a mere seven months away, the light has been left on for one last Monday Morning Twitter Pages.

About Kevin Camp

Kevin Camp

Kevin is a '96 Sun Devil grad of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Contrary to his last name, Kevin is not one to stay in one place too long. Kevin has called Washington, Arizona, Utah, and again Arizona home since his days at ASU nearly 20 years ago. A passion for photography in his spare time turned to a great opportunity to shoot Sun Devil sporting events. He has photographed Sun Devils football at Camp T, Tempe practices, Utah, and Colorado while shooting some basketball and baseball as the teams visited Utah. Now that Kevin resides in Flagstaff, he is looking forward to reigniting the family tradition of Camp T with his wife and son. Kevin is also the VP of the ASU Alumni Association Flagstaff club.
