Monday Morning Twitter Pages: New Mexico State Edition

on

The Opening

Labor Day has become the quasi official holiday of the beginning of the College Football season.  Several big time match-ups pepper the days beginning Saturday followed by one or two Sunday evening games with the grand finale on the Labor Day Monday.  While this formula was mixed together for the 2017 opening, the games would have fell flat if it wasn’t for the Sunday night slate.

The Sun Devils, as they usually do around Labor Day, kicked things off on Thursday night.  The unscientific reasoning points to the mass exodus of people that get out of the sweltering heat of the valley just one last time.  As well as the students who flock home to do their first batch of laundry at their parents.  For the second year in a row the Sun Devil football team shared the stage of an opening night with new attractions inside Sun Devil Stadium.  While the new Tillman statue was amazing, and the new giant video board lived up to all the hype (did you know it’s the 8th largest video board in college football?).  The Sun Devil football team scored the win, but left many with an uneasy feeling toward the remaining 11 games of the 2017 season.

Labor Day not only gives Americans a day to honor the labor movement of this country, or the beginning of College Football, it also marks week one of the often imitated, but never duplicated: Monday Morning Twitter Pages (albeit a day late).  With a new look for 2017, here are your Monday Morning Twitter Pages for Week One.

About Kevin Camp

Kevin Camp

Kevin is a '96 Sun Devil grad of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Contrary to his last name, Kevin is not one to stay in one place too long. Kevin has called Washington, Arizona, Utah, and again Arizona home since his days at ASU nearly 20 years ago. A passion for photography in his spare time turned to a great opportunity to shoot Sun Devil sporting events. He has photographed Sun Devils football at Camp T, Tempe practices, Utah, and Colorado while shooting some basketball and baseball as the teams visited Utah. Now that Kevin resides in Flagstaff, he is looking forward to reigniting the family tradition of Camp T with his wife and son. Kevin is also the VP of the ASU Alumni Association Flagstaff club.
