Monday Morning Twitter Pages: Thursday Recruiting Edition

Despite the tumultuous off season that started just prior to the Cactus Bowl, our Twitter pages were ready for a quiet hibernation period during the quiet months of the College Football calendar.  Not being a huge fan of the recruiting madness, we were set to spring back into action as the calendar turned to March and April.  But a disturbance was felt that shook us out of hibernation; at first we attributed it to The Force Awakens but soon we realized it was the sound of an overly negative fan base bemoaning the perceived state of the program.  The negative tones reverberated from Tempe over the loss of key position coaches, player dismissals due to off field issues, and a few local high school athletes that chose not to be “Hometown Heroes”.  While all circumstances were not positives for the ASU football program, the momentum and success that had been built beginning in the 2012 season should allow for a one year dip outlier, right?  Despite a program that had not strung together consecutive 10-win seasons since the mid 70’s, and had not competed in a meaningful bowl game since 1996, the fan base collected their pitchforks and torches in an outcry of utter disappointment over the 2015 season and its subsequent off season.

But I digress, as this special Monday Morning Twitter Pages, on a Thursday morning, is here to fill your recruiting passion buckets full of day after LOI bonus coverage for the Arizona State Sun Devils.  Head coach Todd Graham and his new staff successfully held on to all 18 committed players despite the loss of key recruiting personal, something that should not be overlooked in today’s age of the flip-flopping teenager.  The Sun Devils failed to add a player after mid-December, but still have at least four open scholarships to offer post LOI day recruits, a strategy that paid dividends last year with the additions of Tim White, Devin Lucien, and Terrell Chatman.  The Sun Devils secured the services of two highly ranked Arizona prep athletes, as well as signing the top JUCO class, many of which are already on campus partaking in off season training.  For those that choose to label the 2016 class as sub par or a failure, may not truly understand the recruiting process and just how difficult of a process it actually is.  So, without the further need to call into question anyone’s level of fanatical allegiances to ASU, here is the official twitter recap of the 2016 recruiting class. Or, as we like to call it, Monday Morning Twitter Pages day after LOI Special Thursday Edition.

About Kevin Camp

Kevin Camp

Kevin is a '96 Sun Devil grad of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Contrary to his last name, Kevin is not one to stay in one place too long. Kevin has called Washington, Arizona, Utah, and again Arizona home since his days at ASU nearly 20 years ago. A passion for photography in his spare time turned to a great opportunity to shoot Sun Devil sporting events. He has photographed Sun Devils football at Camp T, Tempe practices, Utah, and Colorado while shooting some basketball and baseball as the teams visited Utah. Now that Kevin resides in Flagstaff, he is looking forward to reigniting the family tradition of Camp T with his wife and son. Kevin is also the VP of the ASU Alumni Association Flagstaff club.
