Pac-12 Staff Predictions

The ASU Devils Den staff made it’s annual Pac-12 predictions during Tuesday night’s episode that can be found in total below.  Not a lot of surprises in terms of who that what teams would dominate league play in 2014 with all participants siding with Oregon in the North and UCLA getting the same prize in the South with the except of Stats and Research guru Gary Doran going with the Sun Devils.

Most of the panel of participants in the Devils Den Deliberation picked junior quarterback Marcus Mariota of Oregon to take home Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year while USC  junior defensive lineman Leonard Williams was the odds on favorite to take the throne from two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the year Will Sutton who has since moved on to the NFL.

There was a dead split for the ASU pre-season award nominees in-house with junior running back D.J. Foster and senior quarterback Taylor Kelly splitting the vote for Sun Devils Offensive Player of the Year. Another D.J., the Devils starting WILL linebacker going into the home opener, D.J. Calhoun, received the most votes for ASU Freshman of the Year.

These predictions always seem to go askew this time of year, and we’ll check back in the winter to see where it all went right or wrong.
