Rob’s PAC-12 team predictions

PAC-12 North Predictions

Oregon 8-1 (Loss to USC) This team is stacked.  You heard the guys say they could have their best defense in recent memory, and that offense won’t miss a beat with Marcus Mariota now at the helm.

Stanford 7-2 I think they stick to their guns of being a great defense, run the ball, win close games team with losses

Cal 6-3 I think Zack Maynard has lots of options on offense.  I know I’ve been down on this guy, but I am drinking the Tedford Cool-Aid.  They have the talent on offense and a defense that could really dominate the lower teams in this league.

Washington 6-3 I don’t know how quick Josh Wilcox’s defense will kick in and Washington has to replace it’s starting RB, one of the better ones in recent memory, not to mention both WRs.  If Keith Price can win 7 games in conference he deserves Heisman talk.

Washington St. 4-5 Mike Leach has looked pretty angry when he has appeared outside of the pirate ship.  I think he has one or two Oklahoma type surprise games this year, but the new attack defense needs a lot of work.  That being said I am scared for the passing numbers Jeff Tuel will put up this year.

Oregon St. 1-8 This was a tough call, because I love QB Sean Mannion and WR Markus Wheaton.  Can that line allow them to connect on more than 1 TD pass though this year?

PAC-12 South Predictions

USC 9-0 They look loaded on offense and have superior talent then most of the conference combined at nearly every position on defense.

Arizona State 5-4 I think ASU beats NAU and splits against Illinois and Missouri with ASU sneaking up on Nate Scheelhause who is learning a new offense without his best WR from last year.

UCLA 4-5 At least Jim Mora made the right decision and went with Hundley at QB instead of Price.

Utah 4-5 I had Utah really high last year and you made fun of me.  I think I may have them too low this year, but I don’t like their schedule until their last two games.  They really could make a run for the division with that defense of theirs, but if Wynn gets hurt again I don’t know if White can repeat his performance.

Arizona 2-7 Lots of talent, and the Cats could potentially win another 2 games in the division, but I just don’t see it with the defense.  RichRod needs another year to bring in more of his caliber talent.

Colorado 0-9 Jordan Webb is their starter but he has zero dependable weapons around him.

Rob’s PAC-12 Championship Game: USC vs. Oregon at the Coliseum

Something tells me Fox will like covering this one a bit more than last year’s beat down of UCLA by Oregon.  I don’t know if it sane to pick a team to take down Chip Kelly juggernaut twice in one season, but if there was a team in the PAC-12 to do it, it would be the 2012 Trojans.
